production meeting 1: blocking and planning
yesterday was our first production meeting after pitching and receiving his script. unfortunately the script was more of a"to do list" to include in the final product. The list included various sections from each of our pitches, including Adam mcleans idea of having an animated section, this time with a terracotta style with red, and also being merged with my idea of seeing people homaging various guests, with the live footage being in black and white. another common want was a crow in the piece, luckily charlie has a fake crow on hand.
during the meeting we had sat down and listened to the song, blocking the list as an script, however that was when we had realised the length of the animated section would take over the majority of the music video, meaning we would have to either negotiate with charlie to cut down the animated section, or have a group work on the animated section instead of one person.
the other issue we have are the safety precautions to some of his requirements, including the use of candles and incense candles. if we were to use a hotel room to film, we would have to find out the situation on using candles in a room, or if we were to mock up a hotel room, would we be able to use the candles in the film studio.
for our next meeting, we have agreed to have a completed script and storyboard for both the live section and animated sections, and a hotel to film in or gather materials to mock up a hotel room.
