The planets may be broken, but the camera's ok

we have now begin filming the projects for this moduale and the first project i'm part of is "broken planets" written by chloe. The first day of shooting for broken planets began on monday. whilst the producer was collecting the actors and svea setting up the lighting with me and nathan being given the shot list. suprisingly we were filming the finale scenes first, mainly for both continuity and to use the actors first so that they would not be needed for further shoots.

this is a first for me because one of the best reasons to work on a shoot that is not under my own control is i get to try out new camera techniques that i have not done before, such as working with a 2nd camera to capture a scene from different angles and filming a track/pan from a track and dolly and to demonstrate the shot without any problems.

before the first shoot was finished however, a shot was to be carefully placed for editing, basically the scene pans from the man (who would be young) then pans to the chair then pans back to then be cut with the first shoot to reveal that the man has aged. to make sure the shot will be in the same, the tripod had black tape place on each of its feet where it was on the floor, then a screen shot of the clip was taken to then rearrange the camera to its exacxt spot.

much like the first shoot, the other two shoots ran fairly smoothly aside from our actress arriving late but not a massive loss of time and was easy to wrap up. the shoots were handled very proffesionally thanks to our producer and director allowing us to finish on time and even on one very early. overall i'm glad to be apart of this shoot and would happily work with these actors again.
