ADR: A film makers best friend
Following the cleaning of the set, we had ran into a few major problems for the film, meaning we could not re shoot the scenes we need to do. first our actors looked majorly different from what they did when filming and then we had electrical issues with one the lights not working. however we decided to fix the audio through ADR.
ADR (or automatic dialogue Replacement) is a method to replace dialogue in a scene by re-recording dialogue or sounds (or Foley) in scenes where sound is ruined by situations that can't be helped when on set, such as bad echoing, animals sounds, wind, vehicles noises and weather problems.
Much like my Foley work for the "Me Myself And I" Project, we attached a microphone to a camera mounted on a tripod with my laptop with the original video playing so the actors can stay on time with the line delivery.
our actors Jonathan and Michael were sat down together with our director Has sitting behind them listening with the headphones checking sound levels and detecting other sounds while recording. our only issues were doors opening and closing next to us from outside from students but was delt with signs at the door.
overall a fun experience in which i can't wait to edit on monday
