Production Diary 1: Poppy's Cafe for inconveniences .
Today was the start of principal filming for poppy's cafe for monsters and unfortunately problems began before we had began to film as our main actor for benjie was not able to turn up for shooting for the he was needed for, so we had to improvise on the day by improvising with who we had. So as chloe was our actress for poppy we wouldn't have to worry about her dropping from the project.
The plan for shooting was changed to only filming scenes from poppy's perspective and scenes she was in so when our actor comes in for the next shooting days so when it comes to editing, piecing the two shots together would make it look like we wouldn't have an issue at all.
For me as the second assistant camera i now know the full weight of the role as a lot of the job had required me to ensure that the camera batteries were charged, getting lenses for the first camera operator when needed, writing down each take as soon as possible to ensure that i was ready to clap for the next take, ensuring i kept in contact with both the director and camera operator to know what shot were doing, what the time code of what the shot were and what our next shot and take is.
Overall a very challenging role that requires a lot of concentration and timekeeping skills for this physical role
