Production Diary 5: Killing Time: Continuity Conundrums
After the news of finding out i now must edit all footage that have completed scenes creating some difficulties, i have discovered a few issues regarding having a complete narrative and continuity. For starters there are large gaps in the footage with scenes that are not filmed yet, meaning the only way to have the scenes continue one after another is with in between each scene a title card must say *scene missing* so for hand-in the work can be shown while also showing what scenes are missing if the production decides to film the rest after hand-in.
My other issue is the disregard of continuity a few scenes whether that be lighting or weather conditions and even costume. For example the train scene ends with the main villain running into the two protagonists, however in between the two clips before he runs into them the only way to have it connect to the backplate to do the teleport effect he has suddenly lost the kabuki mask he was wearing, and there is no footage of his mask being removed or knocked off during the fight. Luckily i did find a way to hide this issue, just before he runs into the two, i cut to a frame of the actors head behind an extra so as he reveals that he has no mask i can edit in the teleportation effect before no one notices. To also see if it were successful i had multiple people watch the scene back to see if they can notice which luckily it is not.
