Fear: Location Recce: whitby

Due to our producer not appearing to the location recce, i stepped in to take over producing roles for this trip up to whitby for our documentary shoot. However we discovered when we got there however was not only did the people who worked there did not know that we were there, but the location recce was not notified to them or arranged with them, potentially wasting an entire day of travelling up to the location.

Thankfully the people there remembered what the project was and allowed us entry onto the site for us to begin the recce. The choice on using the whitby abby was a great place to shoot aesthetically, especially in context it does work. The whitby abby was famous for use in bram stokers novel Dracula, as it was the place where dracula lived when coming over from transilvania and travelling on boat to whitby harbor. dracula including the universal films and other iterations of the character Are discussed at some lengh during the documentary, making the location perfect for what we need, which is great because with proper context and with a section talking about dracula, the whitby abbey in my honest opinion is used to its fullest potential.

Nonetheless i did my new role by identifying many of the risks that could happen during the shoot whilst also stepping in as a fake shemp for has and nathan if they needed someone to appear as the presenter. with the new information gathered a feel more confident in the project, however i do hope that the producer has managed to arrange shoot times for the abby. If this would of happened during an actual shoot date and we weren't allowed acsess to the sight, that would of been a wasted shoot day
