Fears; shoot day: Whitby

at the request of hutch i was asked to join in to the shoot to survey the shoot and film the behind the scenes shots during the whitby shoot for the documentary. this however ment that our producer had to take the train to the location whilst the rest of the crew travelled by car with the equipment. Once the producer arrived we had walked to the abby to find out that the site was inaccessible due to weather conditions making the abby too dangerous to get near because of the windy storm.

This could of been prevented if the producer had looked at the abbys official website ahead of time to see the status of the opening days during a storm heavily covered by the news, as this could of prevented us from not being able to use the abby. However the alternative was to film the shots we needed for the documentary at the museum for whitby abbey, although its not what was planned, there was no alternative thought up incase a situation like this rose up.

Because of the new shooting location, the producer had began asking members of the public to keep away from where the the scene was shot, which unfortuatly had to be done to get what we needed. from what i seen at the shoot, the director and cinematographer had managed to find work arounds from this issue as well as create new shots to better suit the mood and tone aswell as making the best of a bad situation.

overall not what we had hoped for, we had managed to get what we need for the documentary and could of been ultimatley avoided if the producer had checked ahead of time.
