Builders On Set Part 2: Location recce
upon beginning this project i knew for a fact that one major concern for it would be the location, mainly the hospital setting as we have some options, for starters the local college hospital in the past has had the spare hospital wards that we can rent out and use but as of yet have not contacted me which could be a major issue down the road.
our other option is to compleatly mock up the hospital. Luckily, because of a donation from a TV show, we have access to multiple hospital beds with actual hospital mattresses and a lot of set dressing for a hospital, including tables, draws, seats, nhs posters and various other hospital appliances. We also found some dressing for our wounded builder, a stethoscope and id badge for our doctor aswell to go with Hannah's doctors coat.
For the building site however is a different story, at the moment church street is still being renovated and there is a large main area of the street has a builders- esque look to it, however to actually gain filming permission we would have to talk to the builder in charge and would have to also take along course on working in a construction site.
The good news however is that the builders have been storing supplies near the bus shelters/sound stage fenced off. The reason this is good news because we could also mock up a building site from this fenced off area as it looks perfect with wood and piles of rocks, pavement, and various other builders like apparel.
